OUR EVENTS. . .
Public education and artist outreach are essential components to Fort Worth Public Art. Lectures and exhibitions inform the community of upcoming Public Art projects while our workshops prepare community artists to participate in application processes.

In 2006, Fort Worth Public Art unveiled its’ first public art commission at Fire Station #8 (Rosedale & 12th Avenue). Eric McGehearty’s United We Stand, an installation composed of twelve pairs of classic three-quarter boots cast in bronze and text in the station’s illuminated tower, honors the department’s history and dedication to community. The award-winning sculpture has become a favorite landmark on the city’s south side.
Fort Worth Public Art is pleased to announce an exhibition celebrating exciting new public art projects in design and fabrication for six new fire stations. Featuring artist and artist-team proposal boards and project narratives, the exhibition will highlight the collaborative nature of public art with new architecture. An opening celebration is scheduled for August 8 from 6-9 p.m. at the Fort Worth Community Art Center.
