Mark Reigelman, Right Turn Only, Fort Worth Public Art

Installing in April, 2024, artist Mark Reigelman’s artwork for the Las Vegas Trail Roundabout entitled Right Turn Only is a spiral created from hundreds of bright blue traffic arrows that twirl in on themselves and point toward the sky. The playful artwork nods to the directional signage on the roundabout and acknowledges the community’s aeronautical history through its reference to the circular air patterns created by airplane wingtips.

Vision, South Patrol Division, Fort Worth Public Art

Installing in April, 2024, Vision, artist Gordon Heuther’s artwork for the Fort Worth Police Department South Patrol Division seeks to evoke ideas of clarity, transparency, awareness and reflection that are essential to effective police enforcement today. The mirrored-finished stainless steel sphere is an eye catching and timeless representation and reflection of the entire Fort Worth community and the people who serve it.

The Arts and Economic Prosperity 6 study was conducted by Arts Fort Worth in partnership with Americans for the Arts to show the impact that nonprofit arts and culture industries have on the economy. Take a look at the study’s findings to see how art is making a difference in our community!

PROJECT HIGHLIGHT | Seeds of a New Season

Near Southside artist Clifton Crofford’s Seeds of a New Season is beginning to take shape along West Magnolia Avenue. The Oak, now installed at the southeast corner of Magnolia and 5th, is one of three bronze and glass sculptures planned for the streetscape.

PROJECT HIGHLIGHT | Will Rogers Memorial Center Plaques

A series of 14 plaques will be added to the Will Rogers Memorial Center including two introductory plaques to provide context for the tile murals and describe the 1936 design process as well as twelve scene-specific plaques with text would provide a balanced and more accurate cultural history.

Fabled

Area C Projects’ artwork entitled Fabled draws upon the library’s role as a teller of stories and stories as creators of place. The artists suggest that what people know about a place comes from the stories it tells about itself. Area C Projects partnered with the Fort Worth Public Library to collect pictures, video and stories from residents of Fort Worth over several months.

ARTIST SPOTLIGHT

Susan Narduli

Narduli was recently selected for the Far Northwest Library Public Art Project. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts, a Masters of Architecture and is a licensed architect. As Principal and Creative Director, Narduli guides the conceptual evolution of the work for her award-winning studio. She is also the Director of Experiential and Interactive Projects for Cheeky Films. Visit her website to learn more!
